Orthopaedic Data Evaluation Panel
Orthopaedic data evaluation panel. Set up by NHS supply chain to issue guidance for implants used in arthroplasty. It consists of an independent panel of experts with orthopaedic experience.
Ratings consist of a number (number of years of follow up) and a letter (level of evidence).
NICE guidelines dictate that implants must have a minimum of 10 years of data or are in the trial phase.
Set up in 2012 following the MoM hip replacement problem.
CE mark is compliance.
